Amanda was a Hospitality and Tourism Management major at Robert Morris University, planning to graduate in May 2010. She was also crowned RMU's 2009 Homecoming Queen, where she ran under the nomination of Delta Zeta Sorority. During her time in Delta Zeta, she held the chairs of Academics, Vice President of Recruitment and Courtesy. Within Delta Zeta, Amanda put in well over 20 hours of community service a semester, as well as several hours in her own time.
Aside from Delta Zeta, Amanda was also an active member, holding the office of Vice President, of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Association (HATMA). She was previously employed at the Hyatt Place hotel. Because of her dedication and devotion to HATMA, she was awarded an academic scholarship in 2009 from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation. In her spare time she loved to spend time with her family and friends. Amanda was not only involved on campus and in the surrounding community, but she strove to make RMU a great place. She was someone who you can always count on to cheer you up or make you smile. She was not only a great friend, but a well-rounded person. Her smile, ambition and friendship lit up the lives of everyone around her. She will be greatly missed.
